2026 Apple Crop Update
If you’ve been coming to our farm for years, you know that apples are at the heart of who we are.  Our farm began as an apple orchard, an apple is part of our logo, and our orchards are an important part of our farm.

This year however, Mother Nature has given our apple trees a real challenge.

It started with sub-zero temperatures in January, followed by three frost events while the trees were blooming in May.  Then came two hailstorms.  The result is a much smaller crop than we normally have, especially among our early-season apples: Gala, Ginger Gold, Jonamac, Mollie’s Delicious, Blondee, Zestar, KinderKrisp, and McIntosh.  If these apples are your favorite, get sooner rather than later.  They are all on the market now!

Bottom line: You may notice some frost scars or hail marks on the apples this year.  Though they may not be as pretty as apples from a more typical year, the flavor inside is still the great apple taste you know and love.

U-Pick Apples
Because our early apples are ripening approximately 10 days ahead of schedule and have experienced significant damage, we will not be opening our early apple U-pick over Labor Day weekend as we traditionally do.

We know this may be disappointing, especially for families who have made this part of their fall tradition.  We are hopeful that the crop will improve as we move into our mid-season and later varieties.  We’ll keep you updated as the season progresses.

Processing Apples
We are offering processing/second-quality apples in our market now, at a reduced price.  Though these apples have cosmetic blemishes, they have the same great taste and are wonderful for cut slices for fresh eating, applesauce, pies, freezing, canning, or dehydrating.

We will have animal apples available as well.  These apples have bruising or more significant blemishes but are great for animals or pressing juice.

For nearly 65 years, our orchard has been a place where families come during apple picking season for a unique experience, to enjoy each other, and to make memories.

Many of you first came here as children, and now you’re bringing your own children and grandchildren.  That means more to us than any individual apple crop.
