A Special Dessert for Mother’s Day
🍑We’ve been busy experimenting with the combination of peaches and rhubarb this week.  Our bakery staff tried this combination in pies and then in crisps, and we were all smitten with the tanginess of fresh rhubarb alongside the sweetness of a Michigan peach.
😀The staff voted, and for Mother’s Day weekend we will be offering Rhubarb Peach Crisp.  Think Apple Crisp but using different fruits along with the traditional crumble topping.

We will be making these on Thursday morning and they will be available starting Thursday afternoon through the weekend unless we run out!

Fresh Rhubarb Pies
It’s rhubarb season, and we just made fresh rhubarb pies!  They will be in our freezer on Thursday!
Grocery
Additions to our usual offerings include Jalapeno tortilla chips, fresh eggs, and new flavors of Olipop sodas.

Happenings on the Farm
Planting
Now that we have a break in the rain, we are busy planting, planting, planting!

And laying straw in the strawberry field!  The straw helps control weeds, moisture, and keeps the berries cleaner.

In the Greenhouse
The tomatoes are quickly gaining size, plus our purple tomatoes are taking shape.
We love the baby cucumbers emerging!
Speaking of Baby Fruits
Last week we showed you strawberry blossoms.  Now we are seeing small strawberries!
And the pear orchard went from peak blooms to small pears in a little over a week!
Thank you for your continued support and for buying local.
Everyone at Corey Lake Orchards wishes you a happy Spring and Happy Mother’s Day!
