This Saturday is our last November market day.  We can help with your needs for Thanksgiving (see below) as well as stock up for the winter months ahead.  We are open from 9am to 3pm and have lots of produce on sale.

While out, head over to the Norton Elementary School Craft Fair (9am to 2pm).  Stop by the So Flexy Yoga booth for a free apple and a discount coupon to use Saturday on a bag of apples at our market.

You can always shop by appointment (269) 244-5690.  We will also be open additional Saturdays in December and possibly January for apple sales, as needed.  Stay tuned for that information.

U-Pick Grapes and Apple Gleaning
You can still glean from the apple orchard and pick Concord grapes.  If you are interested in picking grapes or gleaning the remaining apples in the orchard, please call for an appointment as the market is closed during the week.

Grapes are measured and sold in 5-gallon buckets; apples are sold in whole bushels only ($10 a bushel).  Must bring your own containers for both.

Special Harvest Sales
Apple Sale
Buy any two bags of apples and get the third (same size) bag for free!  Get all the same or mix and match between varieties (including Honey Crisp).  This is your chance to get the perfect blend for applesauce and for fresh eating!

Pie and Stacking Pumpkin Sale
The remaining stacking, white, and pie pumpkins are on sale for $1 each.  Pie pumpkins are easy to store, or roast and freeze the pumpkin to use for a pie or pumpkin dessert later.

Winter Squash Sale
Stock up on our winter squash – all are on sale.  Individual squash are 50 cents off their marked price or fill up one of our handle bags with squash of your choice for $20 (about 1/2 bushel and around 10 squash depending on the size).

Onion Sale
Buy two, get one free bag of onions!  Our sweet onions, now cured, will keep through the winter.  They are available in 5-pound and 10-pound bags.

Apple Seconds are available for use in processing (making your own juice or sauce) or to feed animals.  We currently have various kinds available for $5 a half bushel; they are already bagged.  If you are in need of 15-bushel bins of animal apples, we sell those in bulk also.

Alcohol Products
We offer 8 different wines, 9 different hard ciders, and assorted fruit brandies.  Our products are made on-site in small batches.  We distill the brandies on the farm and use our fresh apple cider as the basis for fermenting our hard ciders.  Hard ciders currently in stock are: Cherry, Dry, Sweet, Peach Pear, Semi-Sweet, Blueberry, and Maple.

Our wines and made-on-the-farm hard ciders are the perfect complement to your Thanksgiving holiday dining and relaxing!

Baked Goods
Though our bakery is closed for the season, we made a few extras of our most popular items and froze them for you.  Just use within a few days of thawing.

  • Strombolis (frozen, ready to bake) – assorted flavors in breakfast, traditional, and pizza styles.
  • Cookies
  • Muffins
  • Focaccia bread
  • Fruit pies (frozen, ready to bake) – Apple, Dutch Apple, Blueberry, Cherry, Peach, Pumpkin, and Strawberry Rhubarb.

Donut lovers.  Stock up and have them when you want!  It’s a simple thaw and quickly warm up in the microwave, and they taste like they were just made!

Holiday pies.  We have a good supply of our “take and bake” holiday pies in all 8 flavors in our freezer.  If you are not able to get out this Saturday to get some, please email or call us (269) 244-5690 to place a pie order and we will hold them back for you.

Locally harvested maple syrup and honey, and Amish-made jams, jellies, and salsas.  We also have assorted cheeses, crackers, chips, hummus, mustard, granola, salad dressings, and more.

Fall Apples – What’s Currently Available
Please note that many of these apples are only available on the market.  

     Braeburn.  Sweet with a hint of tart, and a firmness that stores well.  These traits plus the fact that they bake well have made them a very versatile apple.
Cameo.  A firm, crisp, and sweet apple that resists browning.  Great for fresh eating, applesauce, or baking.  Keeps well in your refrigerator.
Cortland.  A hint of tartness makes this a great earing, cooking, and baking variety.  A descendent of the McIntosh.  It’s a bit sweeter than its ancestor and juices really well.
     Fuji.  An incredibly sweet flavor, low acid content, and crisp.  Excellent all-purpose use for snacking, baking, and cooking.
     Gold Rush.  Tart when initially harvested, but when kept in storage, the flavor balances, creating a sweet, acidic, and tangy taste.  A cross between Golden Delicious with Rome Beauty and Winesap.  Stores for months.
 Granny Smith.  A bright green apple with gray dots.  The apple is tart making it good for pies and fresh eating.  The traditional “sour green” apple.
     Honeycrisp. A people’s favorite.  It is crisp with an excellent sweet flavor and a “bite” to it.  Great for eating fresh or using in salads.  Keeps only several weeks.
     Ida Red.  Suits your every use!  Eat fresh or for cooking.  Taste is both tangy and tart.  Flesh is white, crisp and juicy.  Favored for sauces, pies and desserts.  Texture holds up well when baked.
     Jonathan.  Pretty and popular, used for fresh eating and cooking, a favorite for apple butter and taffy apples.
     Northern Spy.  The professional baker’s dream, cooks up well in applesauce, pie and other dishes.  Stores well, easy to remember by saying “Spies for pies”.
Pink Lady. Medium size apple with a firm, crisp flesh, and a tart taste with a sweet finish.  Stores well.
Red Delicious.  America’s most popular apple, known for the “five little bumps” on the bottom. Best for fresh eating and snacks.  Full-flavored sweet taste, yellowish flesh, and crisp texture.
     Red Rome.  A big, round, red apple right out of storybooks!  They have a mild, sweet flavor. Most popular for baking because it holds flavor and shape well.
Yellow Delicious.  A gingery-smooth, sweet taste under a thin skin. It is the most popular yellow apple, good eaten fresh, baked or cut in salads.  Makes a nice apple sauce and many people use for canning pie filling.
Winesap.  A well-known American heirloom apple.  It has a firm, juicy, light yellow flesh with a wine-like sweet-tart flavor.  It is an all-purpose apple that stores well, and it is favored for cider-making.
